Finally a space for her!
Her room is a tranquil retreat, away from the responsibilities
of the home, a place to unwind and relax, a very pure
space, focusing on comfort, edited style and softness.
The walls are covered in flax colored, Belgium organic
linen. The linen drapery is hand embroidered with tiny
round mirrors, which is the room’s jewelry. The
high backed slight profile sofa, custom sized, is split-covered
in cream velvet and white and cream window paned wool.
The reclaimed teak wood chair cushions are covered in
an organic grey / brown and cream bird print. An antique
desk and chair from my Grandmother will aid her when
writing letters and emails. The contemporary lighting
throughout is just enough to keep an edited appeal. The
hardwood is covered in diamond weave sustainable cocoa
colored sisal bound in cream leather. Two bronze scalloped
stools play a dual role as seating or cocktail tables.
She’ll need a wall-mounted flat screen to watch
her favorite night time television programs. A reclaimed
steel and mirror cabinet can store or hide anything she
wants, wine or wrapping paper! A focal point is the polished
nickel chandelier falling through the linen and antique
mirrored ceiling.
She will entertain in her “girl’s only” crisp
clubroom, while friends can sneak in through the side
door. |
