Providing interior design with a historical edge.
Kristen Catto Armstong provides interior design with a historical edge. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design at Miami University, she moved to London where she worked for seven years at Blanchard Interiors. Early in her career she was exposed to art and antiques both in her work and European travel. Residing in both London and the Cotswolds provided Kristen with a refined eye for the historical presence in all residential interiors. This early influence is seen in much of her work and is carried throughout her projects, ranging in styles from English country to modern classic.
In 1996 Kristen established a showroom at Michigan Design Center that featured antique furniture, fabrics, lighting, and accessories from England and Europe. Kristen has participated in various events including antique shows where she has spoken on the subjects of design and antiquing. She has also been an active participant in design events at the Birmingham Community House, Cranbrook House and MDC’s Catwalk. Her work has been featured in both Signature and Style magazines, the Detroit News Homestyle and the Birmingham Eccentric. She is also a named source for antiques and accessories in the book Antiques at the Table. Recently, she opened her design studio in Birmingham and has increased her scope of works to include both residential and commercial projects.
Katie Saracino joined KCID in November of 2007. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design from Michigan State University. Her work in California and Chicago enhanced her early career and she has joined Kristen to aid in the expansion of KCID. |
