Renovations Done Right

Join us for MDC’s second-annual Renovations Done Right, where expert interior designers will show how to accomplish your renovation – the right way. Three keynote presentations – “Customizing Your Kitchen and Bath,” with Amanda Sinistaj (9:30 a.m.); “The Master Plan,” with Jill Schumacher and Michelle Mio (11 a.m.); and “The Finishing Touch,” with Phyllis Whitehead (12:30 p.m.) – will take place in the Mid-America Room, followed by questions and answers with the designers in a sponsoring showroom. Admission is complimentary, but you must RSVP by April 24 online to reserve your seat.


Habatat Galleries’ 47th Annual Glass Art Exhibition

Habatat Galleries invite you to celebrate their 47th Annual Glass Art Exhibition at Michigan Design Center (Suite 39), as well as at their Royal Oak art gallery. Habatat offers the finest works of contemporary art glass from around the world. The event is open to the public May 4 through June 5.

New staff joins the RJ Thomas Team

The RJ Thomas team is comprised of experienced, knowledgeable, and creative individuals who are always ready to collaborate with designers. Two highly experienced (and friendly!) people have recently joined their team to help meet all the needs of designers. Marcie Kellenberger joins as Operations Manager and was formerly a district operations manager with Ethan Allen. Allie Mullins joins the team as Customer Service Representative and was previously with Robert Allen Duralee Group at Michigan Design Center.

Rita O'Brien Design Group, Suite 115, showcases the work of several metro Detroit artists. In April the showroom is featuring a collection of work from acclaimed artist Laurel Pitynski, who holds a BFA and MA from Michigan State University. Laurel’s abstract pieces use a multi-range of color and special surface effects with a strong graphic basis. Her pieces are suitable for residential or commercial spaces.
