In texture and appearance, these furnishings look like the real
thing, but they do a clever job of fooling the senses of sight and touch
– and still manage to avoid looking like cheap imitations. When many
materials such as ivory, crocodile, coral, sharkskin, and some woods
are either illegal or endangered, choosing a faux alternative is
also environmentally and socially responsible.
