Born and raised in Chicago, Merien received a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design at the Illinois Institute of Art. Post-graduation she worked with an award-winning designer where she grew her unique vision and strong sense of style before moving to Michigan. There, she again, worked alongside one of Michigan’s well-known designers and found herself recognized by local publications.

Following several years of refining her craft, Merien Daka Design Group was established. Her impactful, refined interiors draw inspiration from a myriad of creative fields including art, architecture and fashion.

As Founder and Interior Designer of Merien Daka Design Group, Merien seeks to first create a vision and then execute it for each client, designing one-of-a kind environments, each tailored to the client’s unique taste, with an emphasis on skillfully executed, flawless design.
