Kohler WasteLAB Moodboard
THURSDAY, MAY 29 | NOON | MID-AMERICA ROOM | TRADE ONLY

Sustainable interior design goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about making thoughtful choices that are environmentally responsible, ethically sourced, and healthier for people and the planet. Join us for this special event, beginning with a keynote presentation from Kohler WasteLAB (available through Ann Sacks) followed by an engaging panel discussion on how designers can craft beautiful, functional spaces using products and practices that promote long-term wellness and environmental responsibility.

Panelists will share how their brands and philosophies support key sustainability principles—from using low-VOC paints and heirloom-quality furnishings to supporting ethical manufacturing and reducing waste through repurposing and artisan production.

Meet the Panelists:

Anita Sneideraitis, Gunnar Olivier Design
Anita Sneideraitis is the founder of Gunnar Olivier Design, a studio at Michigan Design Center specializing in interior and garden design with a strong emphasis on color theory, craftsmanship, and sustainable sourcing. Through her studio, Anita represents Farrow & Ball, known for its low-VOC, water-based paints and industry-leading sustainability practices, as well as Stanwick & Co., a furniture maker dedicated to heirloom-quality pieces that reject the wastefulness of fast furniture. Her approach blends timeless aesthetics with environmentally conscious choices, helping clients create meaningful spaces that reflect both personal values and a commitment to sustainable living.

Monty Stauffer, WasteLAB
Monty is the Senior Process and Materials Designer for Kohler WasteLAB at Kohler Co. Monty's focus is discovering new ways to reuse the waste produced in Kohler's manufacturing facilities, and through this, he is pioneering and manipulating processes to accommodate new and adapted materials in order to breathe new life into otherwise landfill-bound material. Monty studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and is an artist, craftsman, and designer.
