Decorating with quality handmade products for the home is trending in 2017.

To keep your home from looking like a DIY project gone awry, focus on investing in

quality items crafted by skilled artisans. Here are a few of our favorites:

Modern Frame by Barbara Barry

offers

handcrafted glazed ceramic tiles using

the dry-pressed technique that creates a

raised or embossed edge pattern for a crisp

architectural statement.

Ann Sacks, Suite 91 DDC by The Nordin Brothers

offers

unique objects that are locally made by

world-class Detroit artists. They create

one-of-a-kind objects and works of art

that really make a statement.

DDC by the

Nordin Brothers, Suite 39

Hubbardton Forge

creates each product

domestically, made-to-order, and in an

environmentally responsible way. This

Zephyr LED Pendant’s organic shape is

illuminated by ribbon-like LED lights.

Lighting Resource Studio, Suites 18 & 97

Ren-Wil

is one of Canada’s most well-

known names in home décor. They bridge

the gap between the art world and the

marketplace, with 12 full-time artists.

Shown is the Aristo mirror, crafted from

iron and wood, with an antique gold finish.

Marie-Howard Showroom, Suite 119

Weitzner’s

Spring 2017 collection,

Contesseration, pays homage to the

surfaces and patinas of art forms, both

ancient and current. Shown, Kodiak’s

faceted, mosaic-like design is created

by artisans hand-plaiting strips cut from

international magazines.

Tennant & Associates, Suite 61

Encore Ceramics

are green from the ground

up. All waste is collected and recycled into

tiles, and a custom water recycling process

saves more than 40,000 gallons of water

per year. This Storm crackle glaze is gray-

violet with a light green and sky blue base

with occasional hints of rose.
