Custom Tailored

Who would want a space that anyone can just order from a catalog? If you’re looking to create a bespoke space that’s custom tailored to your needs, this one’s for you. We’ve asked the experts in our showrooms to highlight some of the ways consumers can customize their designs, making life more convenient and personal. Creating a one-of-a-kind space has never been easier!

SPICY STORAGE
“For clients that are big cooks, we like to design custom spice racks. For example, instead of having all their spices piled in an inconvenient drawer, we built a four-inch-deep niche behind a bi-fold door to the left of one client’s cooktop so that the spices are right at their fingertips and don’t take up counter space. For a different client, we built the spice rack into the wall 4’tall x 30” wide x 4” deep. Glass shelves hold the spices in uniform containers with corresponding labels and are hidden behind a custom laser cut honeycomb wood barndoor with open mesh. Everything is easily accessible, and the solution is not something you’ll find off the shelf.” — Nicolette Martin, Nicolette Design Group

IT’S PERSONAL
“When clients come in to design a space, it’s always important that we personalize it to their lifestyle and taste. Whether it’s a bathroom, kitchen, or storage solutions we have so many unique materials to customize your project. From metal,to glass to wood veneer in many different colorways, you can specify exactly what you prefer. We’re also committed to sustainability and environment-friendly practices and products. All these selections reflect one’s personality and contribute to a clean, safe, and responsible home that meets your every need.” — Jenna Bauer, Scavollini

ALL THE TRIMMINGS
“Trim can be used in so many unexpected ways, from pillows to drapery—even lampshades and table skirts. Infusing interiors with personality and elegance, trimmings weave character and charm through every detail, creating eclectic interiors that speak of considered design. You can even choose customizable trims, where you can select the color palette. Elevate your interiors to the leading edge of design.” — Dawn Tennant, Tennant & Associates

Baker Bespoke Program

THE SKY’S THE LIMIT
“Baker’s Bespoke Program is a blank canvas upon which every element from the silhouette, dimensions, and seat depth to the arms, legs, fabric, trim, and finish can be tailored, or even completely reimagined from a sketch. It’s the ultimate expression of Baker’s made-to-order craftsmanship.” — Patrick Adams, Baker | McGuire

MADE WITH CARE
“Color creates ambience within a room…conveying an aura of conviviality and warmth that speaks to the moment but must also have staying power and timeless air. The new MADE hand-crafted glaze colorways are a great example of this. We wanted to tap into the shades that are catching the attention of designers and consumers and complement surroundings in surprising and refreshing ways.” — DeeDee Gundberg, Ann Sacks

“The designs are executed using a multi-step process that truly marries science with craft. The clay, which comes from Portland, is hand-pressed into hand-carved molds, then trimmed before firing and applying the glaze. The vibrant colors are hand-sprayed to the desired thickness using a proprietary technique then fired a second time to allow the glazes to mature and seal, achieving their exceptional, three-dimensional movement and depth. The high-temperature firing used in stoneware tilemaking allows the interactive glazes to produce a lustrous surface and creates a rich variance of color that pools and breaks over raised and recessed relief patterns.” — Laura D’Epifanio, Ann Sacks

Artwork by Susan Morosky

Artwork by Susan Morosky

ONE OF A KIND
“Original artwork provides depth, texture, and size options that are often missing from manufactured art available through big-box stores. We represent a talented group of artists who work in multiple mediums, styles, and sizes, which helps our clients find unique pieces that speak to them and provide a very personal way to complete a space. A few artists in particular commission their original art into different sizes and can also provide companion pieces to their originals. For example, artist Susan Morosky created a triptych from a single piece of art. In addition, we offer original art on paper that can be custom framed through our partnership with Bruce White Gallery

Since the size of a piece of artwork can make or break a particular space, we are able to recommend options and allow designers to borrow pieces to try them out in a client's home. If there is a piece or a direction that you’re interested in, our artists can develop a custom piece tailored to your taste and sizing needs.” — Cristine Sankbeil, TRA Art Group

Made to size rug

HANDMADE IN-HOUSE
“Unlike standard retailers where style and size are predetermined and very limited, Flooring Design has thousands of choices using high-quality, in-house rug fabrication. We create handmade rugs in timeless styles using natural fibers, such as sisal, wool, or beautiful synthetics, and we can help you determine which material will best suit your needs. For example, hand-loomed wool is designed to last a lifetime. Sisal has a unique earthy texture and is comprised of natural fiber that is long-wearing and easy to care for. If you have children or pets, a synthetic fiber might be an ideal choice for a custom rug as it stands up to wear and tear. Every rug we create is tailored to your exact specifications and we offer beautiful edge finishing to match. Don’t just settle for something off the rack.” — Chris Smith, Flooring Design
